Our Story

Inspired by nature’s ability to offer a sanctuary of solace, Julie James founded Solace Organic Spa in 2004.

We believe that wellness is born from nurturing one’s inner beauty. We are a boutique spa on Salt Spring Island, BC, nestled within the peaceful island rainforest. An intimate connection with nature can be found while relaxing in our Spa Ritual: forest hydrotherapy circuit – a revitalizing thermal ritual that has been practiced for centuries. Here you will experience our West coast forest spa with cedar hot tub, cold plunge, sauna and relaxation lounge. Each session is private, allowing you to cycle freely through the stages of hot, cold, and rest.

This nourishing experience in nature lands within our bodies, flowing into the nearby treatment rooms where professional massage and spa therapists address the entire being – healing body, mind & soul.

We formulate small-batch organic skincare, woven into our treatments to carefully restore nature’s rhythm within. Our vision is to provide a harmony of the senses, where you feel connected to self, cared for by our team, and can take time to rest in this busy world.

Meet more of our wonderful team here.

Our Team

At Solace Organic Spa, our certified therapists believe in a holistic approach to wellness, combining natural and alternative therapies with kindness and a focus on self-discovery. We customize each session to create a nurturing environment that promotes relaxation, rejuvenation, and inner balance.
